School Advocacy & Assistance

Schools carry the responsibility to educate the students in their care regardless of whatever unique needs each individual student has or challenges that may present.

The clinicians at Silver Linings Neurodevelopment are passionate about supporting schools, teachers, and students to secure best outcomes for all. We offer a team-based, multidisciplinary approach to school advocacy. Specific services can include:

  • 504/IEP Advocacy: for parents and caregivers who are seeking guidance and support with the special education process.
  • School Training: for schools seeking to stay informed about current best practices in special education and behavioral techniques.
  • School Advocacy: for schools seeking guidance and support for students experiencing educational or behavioral challenges.

Holly Sharpe, M.Ed, BCBA, LBA uses the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and positive reinforcement as well as her own experience as a Certified Alabama Collaborative Educator to help schools and teachers solve problems and set students up for success.

Emily Gibson, PhD, BCBA, NCSP can help students understand their emotions and emotional responses, and by providing quality counseling services and/or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Emily can guide students toward emotionally healthy behavior. Emily can also assist educators in recognizing the signs and symptoms of various emotional issues in children, as the issues often present differently than in adults. Jenn Saliba, CCC-SLP can help students make connections between social-emotional skills and communication skills in order to support self-regulation of emotional responses and positive interactions with teachers and peers. Jenn utilizes her knowledge and skills in the areas of Applied Behavioral Analysis and Speech Pathology to facilitate student success and endless potential within the academic setting as well as support teachers in identifying functions of deviant behavioral responses.
